Just a quick update for now on the loft project. The first coat of paint has been applied to the partition wall and ceiling and now the room really does look like a room!
As for the brick wall I opted for a wire brush and some good old elbow grease to remove the dust and loose bits of mortar and today I started to apply the sealant to the bricks... lovely job...it's taking forever!
Hopefully by Sunday evening the second coat of paint will have been applied and the wood preservative will have been added to the cross beams... It really is almost there now.
What's left to do?
1. Fix skirting boards and paint / varnish.
2. Seal the plasterboard edges where they meet the brick dividing wall.
3. Fit the access hatch doors in the partition wall.
4. Fix a new light (spotlights)
5. Pop in a couple of electric sockets.
6 Fit carpet.
7. Tidy up around the exterior of the loft hatch opening.
Still on course for finishing by the end of the month all being well.
I'll post pics over the weekend when the paintwork is finished.
