Almost done! ... After a coat of PVA and two coats of emulsion the paintwork is complete!
I've also treated the cross-beams with Dark Oak timber treatment and seeing as these are possibly over 100 years old they've come up a real treat!
As you'll see from the picture below I've still got to seal the other half of the brickwork... A little job for tomorrow..
My temporary light is looking a little out of place now .. That'll soon be changed too...
The carpet is on order so I'd best get the skirting boards fitted soon.
Another week or two should hopefully see the project completed.... Not bad for my first attempt at a DIY loft conversion. Once complete I'll be moving onto the more serious stuff.. constructing my gaming table!
I just came across this and it is really inspiring to see the progress you've made.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robb. It's been hard work but it's been worth the effort. Thanks for your comment and stay tuned for pictures of the finished item.

ReplyDeleteI have just 'followed' you as I stumbled across this from TMP. Readign with heaps of interest as I am just plunging into my own little room - but mine is in the basement.
Keep up great work - such a transformation from the initial photos
Richard
Cheers for the comments. @yorkie: I am indeed a lucky git.... lol. I've waited since the mid 70's to have my own space to devote to the hobby so it's about bloomin' time! Can't wait to get started with the gaming but stil have a lot to do yet. I basically started wargaming from scratch a few years back after stepping out of the hobby for several years. Still got a lot of figures to paint up (both Napoleonic and WWII (and possibly some WWII naval vessels as this is something else I'd like to have a dabble in). Will be great to have somewhere to leave stuff in situ though, knowing nothing needs to be
ReplyDeletepacked away in between painting or gaming.
@ rct75001: Thanks for joining my list of followers Richard and for the kind words. Best of luck with your basement project!
That should read 'WWI naval' above ... Not WWII by the way!
ReplyDeleteSteve, it looks excellent, a truly professional finish. I look forward to seeing the table built now, and the carpet will really finish it off.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Lee.
Cheers Lee. It certainly looks a lot different from when I started!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate,
Steve
That's looking good, best of luck with it. You going for tube lighting?
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil. I'm hoping to go for a track of halogen spotlights when everything else is done.
