Having captured the road junction the U.S. force decided that the threat from the Panzer needed to be dealt with and sent in its Sherman to deal with it. After taking up position on the hilltop overlooking the road it fired several shots before managing to put it out of action...
Meanwhile, on the other side of the hill a German infantry squad hug the hedgerow waiting fir their moment to strike the unaware Sherman. After a successful panzerfaust strike the Sherman is immobilised and assaulted by the squad. The crew, even though supported by friendly troop decide that enough is enough and abandon their vehicle..
The Sherman takes up position and slams two shots into the side of the Panzer rendering g it useless.
