I've read quite a few good reports regarding the Shako rule set so I decided to take the plunge and ordered a set. I managed to get a hold of the 1st Edition and I'm really looking forward to giving them a go. I'm currently in the middle of off loading quite a few rule books (both Naps and WWII) and I'm being quite ruthless about the cull. I think we all know that there comes a point when we look at a certain set and think 'no, I'm never going to get into that' ..... We all need a clear out once in a while and it's surprising just how much 'dead money' these things add up to. ... So, out with the old and in with the new.
If anyone out there has tried or is currently playing Shako, I'd be interested in hearing your views so please leave a comment.
Cheers,
Steve
Steve,
ReplyDeleteI have both the first and second editions, and have played the rules several times. Not my first choice, but definitely in the "will play again" category, and it's the first choice of several others in our wider group, so doubtless I will.
The rule book arrived today so time for a read through. I really hoe I don't do my usual thing of getting half way through before losing interest!
ReplyDeleteSorry Steve, I did not reply to your comment on our post, so will do so here instead.
ReplyDeleteI'd be surprised if you give up half-way through. Let us know if you have any queries about specific rules and we'll let you know our interpretation (or where we have made alterations!). Every set of rules has the innovation that they bring, however significant or otherwise. For Shako it is the MR, which is the real 'elegant' part of the rules.
