I came across the Minden Rose Rule set a few months ago on the net and have just got round to reading through them. They look a really good fast play set of rules and I was wondering if anyone had used them either in their original form or 'tweaked' to play Napoleonics.
Personally I don't see why the rules can't be used for the Napoleonic era and I'm definitely going to give them an outing once I've finished getting my scenery finished.
If anyone has tried them then please leave a comment and let me know how they played out.
Cheers,
Steve

I see you are still searching for the 'right' set of rules Steve, I'm the same, I like polemos but they read slightly more complex than I really want. Are those Minden rules an old set?
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Lee.
Steve and Lee,
ReplyDeleteWe don't have much experience with the fast play rules as we are at the other end of the spectrum, but there seem to be heaps of them out there. Have you tried Snappy Nappy (http://onmilitarymatters.com/pages/190320.htm), Imperial Lances (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Imperial_Lances/), About Bonaparte (http://www.caliverbooks.com/bookview.php?4f084a3bf899472f336faa8c9a10146a&id=19503&subcatcode=D&subcatno=70) or the ones on the free rules site (http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/napoleonic.html)?
A question to you please Steve. I am trying to put a link to your blog on our blog, but when I copy the address it reverts to http://wwwsimply6.blogspot.com.au/ which gives an error. Do you have another link or a workaround please?
James
Hi James,
ReplyDeleteTry http://wwwspcwargamescenery.blogspot.co.uk/ as a link.
Cheers,
Steve
It is bizarre Steve, I can get to it from my bookmark in my browser, but when I try to add one to the blog, it does not work.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem when I clicked on the link to your blog on Lee's blog. Something to do with the mirroring, I think.
James
Hi James
ReplyDeleteI've no idea why it's not working to be honest. Are you creating a link from the comments section of your blog or from the blog dashboard?
Steve
Steve,
ReplyDeleteI've had the same problem when trying to add a link to your blog from mine. I tried a few times. I can't understand why either.
Lee.
