Just finished my latest 'unit' of French Carabinier. The figures are from Italeri and have I turned out ok.. I think!
I've decided to take a little break from figure painting for the next week or so as I want to do some scenery work, namely some 'down-scaled BUA sections.
I've also been looking at the Napoleonic version of DBA (DBN) and wondered if anyone out there has tried these?
The 'units' are very small (8 x infantry figures, 3 x cavalry figures per unit for example) but this doesn't bother me so much and fits in just fine with my 'painting in small numbers' approach. The only sticking point I do have is that the games are very small for what are basically a grand tactical set of rules. The average force is only 12 units per side and played on a tabletop only a couple of feet square. This wouldn't really do for me as I want to play larger scale encounters. If anyone has experience of the system then please let me know what you think of them and if they would 'scale up' for larger games.
Until next time...
Steve

I like these sculpts. Lovely brushwork as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, that's very kind of you.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Steve.

Cheers Lee.
DeleteThose Italeri carabiniers are nice figures and you have done a beaut job of them. They will look most impressive 'charging' across a tabletop!

ReplyDeleteThanks James. I'm looking forward to giving them a run out when I finally get around to trying a few rule sets out later this month.
DeleteGreat looking carabiniers!
